Master’s Freshman Scholarship of the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University

This scholarship program is established by the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, and is ONLY open to applicants to our university's English-taught master's programs in medicine. The International School of Medicine is located in Yiwu, in the central part of Zhejiang Province. Students who receive this scholarship are required to comply with all teaching arrangements of the International School of Medicine.



I.  Introduction to the Scholarship

To cultivate outstanding medical professionals and promote international exchanges and cooperation, the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University has established this scholarship. It aims to attract and support outstanding medical students worldwide to pursue advanced studies at Zhejiang University and realize their medical aspirations.


II.  Scholarship Coverage

Master’s Freshman Scholarship of the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University

For first-year freshmen, it includes:

1. Free on-campus accommodation during study at the International School of Medicine

2. Monthly living allowance: 1,500 RMB per month for 12 months (first academic year only)

3. Full coverage of comprehensive medical insurance for international students studying in China (first academic year only)


III.  Application and Deadline

Applicants shall truthfully fill in the Master’s Freshman Scholarship Application Form of the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University (Download), and send it to the email address (ismgraduate@zju.edu.cn, with the email subject format: Application No. + Passport Name + Major), and also upload this application form to the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University (Login Portal).

Application Deadline: May 31, 2026

Note: Applicants must send the email and complete the online application with all required documents submitted via the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University by the deadline.


IV.  Eligibility

1. Applicants must meet the admission requirements for English-taught master’s programs of Zhejiang University, refer to the Application Guide for Master’s Degree Programs, Zhejiang University (link) for details.

2. Applying for English-taught medical master’s programs: Select “School of Medicine” as the faculty and “English” as the teaching language in the study plan section of the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University.

3. Not receiving any other type of scholarship at the same time.


V. Documents for Application

In addition to the admission documents (refer to the Application Guide for Master’s Degree Programs, Zhejiang University (Link) for details), scholarship applicants shall also submit the following materials:

1. Master’s Freshman Scholarship Application Form of the International School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, filled in Chinese or English (Download).

Note:

1.1 The application form shall be sent via email to ismgraduate@zju.edu.cn (email subject format: Application No. + Passport Name + Major).

1.2 Upload the application form together with other documents to the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University (Login Portal).

2. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Download). Please submit a copy and keep the original. This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese health and quarantine department and must be filled in English. Applicants shall complete all required examination items. The form is invalid if items are missing, no photo is attached, the photo has no cross-seal, or no signature and seal of the doctor and hospital. The result is valid for 6 months, please arrange your medical examination accordingly.

3. Non-Criminal Record Certificate. Issued by the local public security authority, valid for 6 months.

Note:

1. All above documents must be submitted online together with admission materials by May 31, 2026.

2. Incomplete or non-compliant applications will not be accepted.

3. Document submission: The scholarship application form must be submitted in two ways: (1) Sent to the designated email: ismgraduate@zju.edu.cn; (2) Uploaded to the application system. Other documents only need to be uploaded to the system. Do not mail hard copies or send documents only by email.

4. The university may require supplementary documents or conduct video interviews.

5. For details about English-taught medical master’s programs and training modes, please consult the International School of Medicine.


VI. Scholarship Review and Result Notification

1. The university will select candidates based on comprehensive evaluation of research ability, academic performance, language proficiency, video interview and other factors.

2. Applicants may contact the International School of Medicine for inquiries in late August or early September 2026.


VII. Scholarship Duration

The scholarship is valid for 12 months in the first academic year.

*Note: The living allowance is paid monthly from the date of enrollment. Students who register on or before the 15th of the enrollment month will receive the full month’s allowance; those who register after the 15th will receive half of a month’s allowance.

Allowance stops from the next month for students who suspend, drop out or graduate. Allowance continues during official holidays. Back payment is available for those who missed allowance during the holidays. The monthly allowance will be suspended for students who fail to register without approval, leave campus for non-medical reasons or are absent for more than two consecutive weeks.


VIII. Others

1. Scholarship recipients must abide by the relevant regulations of the International School of Medicine after arriving in China.

2. Recipients shall not change the admitted university, major or duration of study after arriving in China.

3. Recipients who need to suspend studies due to serious illness shall return to their home countries at their own expense. With approval, scholarship eligibility may be retained for up to one year, but allowance is suspended during suspension. Scholarship eligibility will not be retained for suspension due to other reasons.

4. These application guidelines are interpreted by the International School of Medicine and the International College, Zhejiang University.
