On the evening of February 6th, 2008, more than 150 overseas students on Zi-jin-gang Campus and 75 overseas students on Yuquan Campus, joined with hundreds of their Chinese varsity mates and international faculty members happily gathered together to attend the Spring Festival Eve banquet specially prepared by Zhejiang University for students who stayed on campus to observe the occasion rather than going home.
Prof. DING Jianmin, Dean of the International College and his colleague, Prof. WANG Wenlong, together with university leaders and directors of different university departments and offices take the opportunity to extend New Year greetings and expressed their sincere wishes to the students. Teachers from the International College followed the typical Chinese New Year tradition by giving “Spring Festival Fortune Money”, also called “Red Envelopes” to the international students present at the banquet. Though outside the city was experiencing a rarely seen severe winter, the venue was suffused with warmth and happiness for the coming of Chinese New Year.
