I. Overview of the Program
The 2024 “Living Poetry: Hangzhou” Chinese Language & Culture Immersion Summer School is a two-week program with three modules: intensive Chinese language courses, cultural lectures, and city exploration. The Chinese language course is tailor-made according to the learners' Chineseproficiency, and comprehensively improves their Chinese language abilities. The cultural lectures select topics rich in local characteristics, showcase contemporary China, and broaden the learners' horizons of the country. City Exploration is a walking classroom, where students will experience the life and culture of Hangzhou and feel the vigor of the booming city.
Note:
This program is only for students with Chinese proficiency equivalent to HSK level 3 and above, and has nothing to do with the application and admission decisions of other programs of Zhejiang University.
II. Duration of the Program
August 18th - August 31st 2024 (Two weeks)
III. Content & Schedule of the Program
The program consists of three parts: intensive Chinese language courses, Chinese culture lectures and city visits (Touch Hangzhou). Please check the program itinerary for more details.(Download itinerary)
IV. Fees
1.Application fee: 400 RMB yuan (non-refundable)
2.Tuition fee: 2,600 RMB yuan
3. Learning Materials: approximately 200 RMB yuan(pay after registration)
4. On-campus Accommodation: 140 RMB yuan per day per single room
5. Way of Payment: Application fee and tuition fee should be paid in the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University (Link).
If one fails to make the online payment, then one MUST pay the application fee to the University’s Bank Account (Link), and upload the remittance letter to the System.
6. Insurance fee: Participants of this program are required to purchase their own international travel insurance.
V. Application Duration
From now on to June 30th, 2024.
Note: Applicants must complete the application in the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University(Link) before the deadline, provide all materials in full as required, and pay the application fee.
VI. Eligibility
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and valid foreign passport holders.
2. Applicants must be between the age of 18 and 30, in good physical and mental conditions, and have graduated from high school.
3. Applicants must have Chinese language proficiency equivalent to HSK Level 3 or above.Please do NOT apply for this program if your Chinese proficiency is lower than HSK level 3.
VII. Application Procedures
1. Log in to the application system for international students of Zhejiang University(Link), register and activate your account (after registration, you will receive an activation email in your registered email address. Please go to your mailbox to open the email and click on the activation link before logging into the application system).
2. Select '短期项目 Short-term Programs — 其他项目 Others' after logging in by using your personal account. Fill out the online application form, upload a copy of your passport and HSK transcripts or other certificates that prove your Chinese language proficiency. Select '诗画杭州 -----2024浙江大学中文和中国文化暑期项目 Living Poetry: Hangzhou --- ZJU Chinese Language & Culture Immersion Summer School 2024' on the application page of 'Study Plan'. Continue your application and click '提交申请Submit' in the end.
3. Return to '首页 Front Page' and pay the Registration fee (RMB 400 yuan) online.
4. After submitting the application online and completing the payment of the Registration fee, the university will review the applicant's application materials. Please continue to check the status and feedback in the application system. After your 'Application Status' shows 'Accepted', please pay the tuition fee (RMB 2,600 yuan) online.
Note: Please submit all documents to the online application system before the application deadline. Incomplete documents or incomplete online application will not be accepted. The application fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether the applicant is accepted by the university or not.

IX. Notes
1. Application for this program is not related to the application and admission decisions for other types of programs at Zhejiang University;
2. Students who have completed the program courses will be awarded a certificate
3. The program is only for students whose Chinese language proficiency is equivalent to HSK level 3 or above, and the number of students enrolled by the program must be at least 25. If the basic number of students is not reached, the program will be canceled.
4. There is no scholarship for this program.
