2015 WA School Student Easter Camp Ended Successfully

2015 Easter Camp for 42 Students from 13 middle and high schools in Western Australia was launched in Zhejiang University on April 8th. This program was organized by Confucius Institute at the University of Western Australia, and funded by the Confucius Institute Headquarters.

In the 9 days, students not only attended Chinese classes , also participated in various cultural and exchange activities. In order for them to experience the history and culture of Hangzhou, the International College organized visits to Hefang Ancient Street and the Great Canal Museums. In the afternoon of April 10, the camp arrived Sheng Li and Jing Du elementary school, they worked together with Chinese students in paper-cutting, calligraphy, Chinese painting and craft classes. On weekends, the camp visited the Oriental Perl Tower, the Bund and museums in Shanghai and also had a tour in Anji city which is famous for its Bamboo forest and pandas. Through these activities and visits, the students felt the charm of China and Chinese culture.

In the evening of 15th, the closing ceremony was held in Yuquan Campus and the Vice-dean of International College Pro. Xu Weimin presented students with certificates, encouraged them to continue Chinese learning and welcome them to come back to Zhejiang University as long-term students in the future.

This is the second time of the Easter Camp, and it��s the first time for most students to come to China. Through the program they have a deeper understanding of Chinese economy and society that is different with their impression before and are inspired to continue Chinese language and culture study.
