Opening & Award Ceremony of International Photography Exhibition held in International College

The opening and award ceremony of the photography exhibition entitled ��The city Culture of Hangzhou through the Eyes of Our Foreign Friends�� was held in Asian Youth  Center on Zi-jin-gang Campus in the afternoon of June 13th, Monday. The event had been jointly by Hangzhou Public Diplomacy Association, Foreign Affairs Office of Hangzhou Municipality CPPCC, Information Office of Hangzhou Municipality Government and the International College of Zhejiang University.

The leaders and guests attended the opening ceremony included:

Mr. Ye Min, Chairman of Hangzhou Municipality CPPCC��

Prof. Zou Xiaodong, Executive Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University;

Mr. Zhang Hongjian, Vice Chairman of Hangzhou Municipality CPPCC��

Ms. Wang Xiaomei, Vice Chairman of Hangzhou Municipality CPPCC��

Prof. Wang Li, Dean of the International College��

Mr. Xiao Feng, Director of Foreign Affairs Committee of Hangzhou Municipality CPPCC��

Prof. Xu Weimin, Vice Dean of the International College��

Prof. Wu Xiaowei, Dean of College of International College, Hangzhou Normal University��

Prof. Lin Jingshan, Vice Dean of International College, Zhejiang University  of Technology.


The opening and award ceremony was hosted by Mr. Xiao Feng. Mr. Zhang Hongjian and Prof. Zou Xiaodong both delivered speeches for the event. In addition to making congratulations to the award winners, they also put forward their ardent expectations that the students would take advantage of this event to introduce and promote Hangzhou to the world thus more foreign friends understand and like Hangzhou better, to offer better service for the G20 summit meeting and make greater contributions to the city��s development in future.


The event reached its climax with the awarding part. 56 international students from Zhejiang University took part in the photography competition, submitting over 200 high quality pieces of works. More than 20 students had qualified through the preliminaries for the final round.

Guests attending the ceremony awarded prize cups and certificates to Sudeep Shrestha (Nepal), Chae Hyeongseok (ROK), Kaivansawat Kritchana (Thailand) who got silver medals and Maltceva Alla (Russia), Hwang Soochang (Thailand), Chitsanupong Chuenthananont (Thailand) and Hwang Soochang (ROK) who got bronze medals.


The guests and the students had very friendly conversations, took group photo and visited the exhibition together after the ceremony.
