15. Can the university provide relevant documents for me to apply for T-Visa before enrollment?

If you are a continuing student of this university

If you are a student graduating from another university

Dear student, the school cannot provide documents such as student residence permits prior to your enrollment registration. You may take supporting documents including the Confirmation Form for Study in China and your admission notice to apply for t-visa directly at Exit and Entry Administration authorities in Hangzhou or the district where your campus is located.

16. Do I need to purchase comprehensive medical insurance for studying in China?

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China, all international students must purchase the government-designated medical insurance plan during their studies. The insurance contains accidental injury medical treatment, outpatient medical treatment, inpatient medical treatment, death/disability insurance liability. Treatment facilities are limited to public hospitals in the mainland of the People's Republic of China. For the specific terms of international student insurance, please refer to www.lxbx.net. 


17. As a new student, when can I purchase insurance and how do I buy it? Will the school notify us once it is available for purchase?

Hello student, insurance purchase will be available in mid-to-late August. You may complete the purchase on the overseas student insurance official website (Link). Buying overseas student insurance is a mandatory step for new students' online pre-registration. 18. Should I choose the six-month or one-year package when purchasing insurance?

When buying insurance, the system will automatically calculate the required coverage duration based on your remaining study period. In most cases, you only need to follow the prompts on the system. If you have any questions, you may consult the official overseas student insurance service hotline (4008105119) or the Student Affairs Office of the School of International Education via email (xwb02@zju.edu.cn).


19. When should I complete my physical examination?

Dear student, you may choose to take the physical examination in your home country before coming to China, or complete it after your arrival.

Physical examination completed in your home country prior to entry

You can download the Foreigner Physical Examination Record form from the official website of the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your country. Complete all examination items listed on the form one by one. The form must be filled out, signed and stamped by the examining doctor and hospital.

After entering China, you shall submit your medical report to the local International Travel Health Care Center for verification. Upon successful verification, you will be issued the Verification Certificate of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners.

Physical examination completed after arriving in China

You need to make an appointment with the local International Travel Health Care Center as required and finish all medical tests. You will receive the Verification Certificate of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners directly once you pass the check-up.

For students on Hangzhou campuses, you may book an appointment via the WeChat Mini Program of Hangzhou International Travel Health Care Center.

20. How can I get to Zhejiang University from the airport?

You may travel to campus by metro, airport shuttle bus, taxi or ride-hailing service (Transportation Guide). The exact registration address will be released in the subsequent new student registration notice published on the official website of the International College, Zhejiang University (Link).

21. Which campus gate can I use for entering? Are there any restrictions on campus entry hours? What documents do I need to present to enter the campus?

All campus gates are open to visitors; you may enter through any gate based on your travel route.

For Zijingang Campus:

Pedestrian access is available around the clock.

Vehicle access at South Gate 1, South Gate 2, North Gate 1, North Gate 2 and West Gate 3 is limited to 06:00 – 23:00.

New students may enter the campus by presenting their original passport and a copy of the admission notice.
