In accordance with the relevant notice from the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the scholarship management arrangements of Zhejiang University, we hereby launch the application process for the extension of Chinese Government Scholarship for PhD candidates in 2026.

I. Application Eligibility

PhD candidates applying for the scholarship extension must meet all the following conditions:

1. Maintain a diligent study attitude and good academic performance and conduct.

2. Be unable to graduate on schedule when the original scholarship period expires in July 2026 or January 2027.

3. Have already extended your study period at the university.

4. Have passed the annual scholarship review, completed the thesis proposal and passedmid-term assessment as required by the university.

5. Have not applied for a Chinese Government Scholarship extension before. (PhD candidates are entitled to one extension application only during the doctoral studies, for either six months or one academic year.) No further applications will be accepted from those who have already received a scholarship extension.

II. Review Procedures

1. Student Self-Assessment: April 3 – April 25, 2026

Eligible candidates shall log in to the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System(studyinchina.csc.edu.cn) using CSC number. Go to the "Annual Scholarship SelfAssessment" section, fill out the "Chinese Government Scholarship Evaluation Questionnaire", complete the selfassessment and upload supporting documents, then click "Submit". After finishing the annual selfassessment, log back into the system, go to "PhD Candidate Scholarship Extension Application", click the "Add" button, fill in the required information, save, and submit the application.

2. Supervisor Review: April 10 – April 28, 2026

The academic supervisors (or the supervisor's designated contact) of the applicants shall log in to the Zhejiang University International Student Management System (https://intlstudent.zju.edu.cn), click Scholarship Management, and access the CSC Scholarship Review module to conduct both the annual scholarship Review and the scholarship extension review for the supervised students.

3. University Review: April 28 – May 10, 2026

The International College will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the applicants based on their self-review results, academic performance, campus conduct, as well as the comments from their affiliated schools (departments) and supervisors, and feed back the official review opinions accordingly.
