A record number of Sixes were hit, with many tennis balls unretrievable. It was very competitive from the beginning of the tournament with caps for Best Bowler and best batsman circulating, but eventually the Navy Blue Team from Yuquan campus emerged victorious in all three departments, winning the final with all wickets in tact with 10 balls to spare.

Their captain Mohammed Ijaz walked away with the coveted Brown cap for Batsman of the tournament, a well deserved award for a player who consistently dazzled the fans, even scoring a Century in his 3rd match to end with a tally of 288 Runs. Munir, the pacey right arm fast bowler from the Navy Blue team walked away with the Purple Cap after taking 8 wickets on the Day, and the Navy Blue team won the Trophy for the inaugural tournament, after an intense final against a spirited green team captained by Azim.

The success of this event would not have been possible without the meticulous efforts of the scorers Mansi Venkat and Arpan Pal, who kept the scorecards very accurate. Big thanks also to the Umpires throughout the day who were Free and fair and allowed the game to go on ever so smoothly.

There was a great turnout as over 150 people turned up to watch the very fast paced action matches. It was encouraging to see the level of Interest in the Chinese student counterparts, most of whom had never heard of or seen cricket being played, and it is the hope of the organisers that this may spark an interest in the gentlemans game. We hope this tournament will only get bigger and better as time goes on.
