In order to get a better sense of Chinese culture and understand the history of Zhoushan, at 2:00 p.m. on October 24th, a group of more than 20 students from Zhoushan campus, Zhejiang University took a bus to Zhoushan museum to study.
The tour began with a series of "Beautiful Homeland - Zhoushan Natural Display" on the first floor of the museum, including three parts, "Islands Tour," "Wild Zhoushan" and "Blue Treasure". Through ancient zoo-fossil, animal and insect specimen, the island formation process, natural environment and resource reserves were shown.
In addition, the tour guide also led the students to enjoy the vibrant features of birds in Wu Zhi Island, the morphological features of the small deer mammal roe, the new wood ginger, city flower daffodils and so on. In the "Blue Treasure" section, the overseas students had close contact with four famous snails (whelk, wanbao, conch,nautilus), steamed crab, Chinese sturgeon and other Marine creatures.Later, the students moved to the second floor of the exhibition hall about Zhoushan folk customs.
The display was divided into six units, "Cultivated Sea Fishing", "Boiled Sea Salt", "Fishing and the Customs", "Fishing Harbor Street", "Fishery Processing" and "The Fishing Ship", which vividly displayed the people's customs in recent years. Local features such as temple fairs and puppet shows had sparked heated discussions among students.
Finally, they moved to the third exhibition hall, "Zhoushan Islands and Past History", to have a visit of five parts, ��islands Ancient Local People", "Story in East of Ningbo", "WengShan Chang Country", "Pillars" and "Tide Started from Islands". By that, the students understood the vicissitudes of life and brilliant historical development of Zhoushan from the devastation after the war to the period that islands new district was built.
The trip to the museum has made foreign students be aware of the unique history of Zhoushan more, and intuitively understand the local customs and culture better.
