International Students of Zhoushan Campus, ZJU Participated in the 4th Study Tour of Marine Scholarship of China in Ocean University of China

    On November 5, the opening ceremony of the 4th study tour of Marine Scholarship of China was held in the first meeting room of the library of Laoshan campus, Ocean University of China, which was sponsored by Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Natural Resources of the People��s Republic of China. Liu Min, the deputy dean of School of International Education, OUC, presided over the opening ceremony, and then professor Qin Shanghai from the School of International Education and professor Sheng Lifang from the College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences made the speeches. Afterwards, teacher representatives and students from Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Xiamen University and Ocean University of China, and the teacher from Harbin Engineering University gave speeches respectively.
 
    There were 60 international students from Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Xiamen University, Harbin Engineering University and Ocean University of China participated in the tour, including 14 marine scholarship students from seven countries and 2 teacher representatives of ZJU. One of the students from ZJU made an academic exchage about the theme of ��the past, present and future of ocean��.

    From 5 to 8 November, the teachers and students experienced the oceanographic research technology and ocean survey virtual simulation training, visited the library of OUC, National Deep Sea Center, Pilot Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology, the First Institute of Oceanography, SOA, Qingdao International Sailing Center and the Site of SCO 2018 Summit, OUC research vessel, Yushan campus of OUC, Governor General��s Residence and Tsingtao Beer Museum, started a blue journey to experience the charming ocean, scientific and technological development and urban culture of China, along with enjoying the humanity and natural beauty of Qingdao.
 
    The four-day study tour has extended a bond of friendship between overseas students from four universities around the world, and the academic exchanges have touched off sparks of ideas. In addition, the students also has deeply felt the prosperity of China's marine industry, the rapid development of marine science and technology, and the unique charm of coastal cities, which have cultivated their interest, added confidence and laid a foundation for their further academic research.
