The 2nd Academic Symposium for Advanced International Students of Higher Education Institutions in the Yangtze River Delta Region Successfully Held at Zhejiang University

From May 18 to 20, 2025, The 2nd Academic Symposium for Advanced International Students of Higher Education Institutions in the Yangtze River Delta Region was successfully held at Zhejiang University. Over 100 high-level international students from 19 universities across the Yangtze River Delta get together to participate in academic exchange and “perceive Chinaactivities.

Professor Zhou Jianghong, vice president of Zhejiang University, Ms. Wang Jing, deputy director of the international students affairs department of China Scholarship Council; and Mr. Du Jian, director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Zhejiang provincial department of education, attended the opening ceremony.



In his speech, Zhou Jianghong highlighted that higher education institutions in the Yangtze River Delta have attracted outstanding international students from around the world with their strong educational resources, exceptional research capabilities, and distinctive academic strengths. He emphasized that the symposium aimed to provide a platform for high-level international students in the region to showcase their academic accomplishments, foster mutual learning, enhance innovation, and collectively contribute to the high-quality development of international education in China. He encouraged students to seize this valuable opportunity for growth through academic exchange.



Wang Jing remarked that students from diverse countries and disciplines gathered to gain knowledge from presentations, spark intellectual discussions, and experience the unique charm of China’s development. She expressed hope that the academic seeds sown in the Yangtze River Delta would flourish worldwide, with participants becoming cultural ambassadors who understand and promote friendship with China. She encouraged the students to share their experiences and insights upon returning home, telling the world a truthful, multidimensional, and comprehensive story of China.


The event was hosted by China Scholarship Council and organized by Zhejiang University, with enthusiastic participation from universities across the region. Over the three days, the event featured a variety of activities, including special reports by international student Supervisor, international student academic reports, thematic academic salons, academic poster exhibitions, and Perceiving Chinaactivities. .
