To attract more outstanding international students worldwide to pursue Bachelor’s degree at Zhejiang University, improve the quality and optimize the composition   of the student body, and accelerate the University's advancement to the forefront of top world-class universities , Zhejiang University continues to implement the “Youth Talent Program -YINGCAIJIHUA” for international undergraduate students in 2026.

The program primarily opens a recommendation channel for qualified high schools both in China and abroad. Eligible high schools are encouraged to submit the required materials to  the International College of Zhejiang University within the specified time frame to apply for the recommendation qualification.

I. Requirements on High Schools

Schools participating in the program should be with:

1. Advanced educational philosophy and cultivation mode, emphasis on the all-round development of students.

2. Rich school management and teaching experience.

3. A high-quality pool of international students.

4. Fine teaching facilities and environment.

II. Requirements on Students

1. Non-Chinese citizens with all-round excellence, outstanding academic performance, global vision and having a good knowledge of China and being friendly to China.

2. International students studying at high schools in China should, in principle, rank in the top 10% of all international students in their grade; international students studying at high schools abroad should, in principle, rank in the top 5% of all students in their grade.

3. Requirements of undergraduate admission of Zhejiang University should be met.

4. Being recommended by the principal of qualified high schools.

III. Application for Recommendation Qualification

1.High schools interested in participating in the program must submit the application form (download) to Zhejiang University before December 20, 2025. Zhejiang University will organize expert reviews and decide whether to grant recommendation qualification to the applying schools based on factors such as the overall performance of the school, the quality of student cultivation, and previous enrollment records. Schools that have already obtained recommendation qualification and whose qualification is still valid do not need to apply again.

2.Schools that have obtained the recommendation qualification must formulate their own implementation plans for recommendation and selection in accordance with the relevant requirements of Zhejiang University, stipulating the procedures and rules for their own selection processes and the criteria for recommended candidates.

3.The school, in accordance with the principle of honesty, recommends students who meet the application requirements to Zhejiang University in the name of the principal. If there are no students who meet the recommendation criteria in a particular year, the school may choose not to make a recommendation.

4.The school's recommendation qualification will be revoked if any regulation violation or dishonest behavior is found.

IV. Procedures of Student Recommendation and Admission

1.Schools with recommendation qualification must conduct the selection in accordance with the requirements of the program implementation plan by February 5, 2026, determine the list of recommended candidates (Download), and organize the students to complete the online application.

1.1 Students being recommended must submit an application via the Online Application System for Zhejiang University International Students and pay the application fee. According to the requirements of the relevant authorities, starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, all international students applying for undergraduate programs must provide valid CSCA report. The China Scholarship Council will organize the first test on December 21, 2025, with registration opening in November. Specific times and arrangements will be released through the official website (www.csca.cn). Please check the examination schedule on the CSCA official website and prepare in advance. Incomplete application materials will not pass our university's review. Those who do not submit an application or pay the application fee by February 5, 2026, will not be able to participate in the Youth Talent Program evaluation.

1.2 Schools should submit the list of recommended students to Zhejiang University by February 5, 2026 (download). Recommendations received after this deadline will not be accepted.

2. Zhejiang University will organize experts to review the application materials by March 31, 2026. Video interviews or written tests may be conducted as needed, and admissions decisions will be made based on a comprehensive evaluation.

V. “Youth Talent Program” students will be given priority for the recommendation to the Zhejiang Government Scholarship, if admitted to a Chinese-taught program.
