On April 24, the 2026 “Meng Xing Zhejiang” Chinese Talent Show for International Students concluded successfully. Jointly organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, the Information Office of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, and Zhejiang Media Group (ZMG), this year's event was held under the theme "Meng Xing Zhejiang: Splendor in the Cloud." Bringing together international students from more than 20 universities across Zhejiang Province, the event showcased the richness of Chinese culture and the vitality of Zhejiang's development through a variety of artistic performances.

Five international students from Zhejiang University, representing Moldova, Australia, Brazil, Egypt, and Myanmar, captivated the audience with a featured presentation titled “Voices of Global Youth.” Coming from five continents and gathering in Zhejiang, these ZJUers shared their experiences and observations of China, using their own stories to present a vivid picture of the country they have come to know and appreciate.

 The presentation explored five themes: the cultural traditions of the Spring Festival, the openness and inclusiveness reflected in the Belt and Road Initiative, China's commitment to ecological sustainability, the role of technology in the Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings, and the historical wisdom embedded in Chinese characters. Through these narratives, the students conveyed their understanding of contemporary China and demonstrated the spirit of ZJU's international students—rooted in the university's traditions, connected to China, and equipped with a global perspective.

 That evening, the award ceremony for the "Meng Xing Zhejiang, Singing for the Future" Chinese Song Competition for International Students in Zhejiang Province was also held as part of the event. Sherlyn Tjiawi, a ZJU international student from Indonesia, won Third Prize with her performance of the Chinese song "Yu Xi Tan."

 As Zhejiang Province’s flagship annual cultural event for international students, “Meng Xing Zhejiang” has been held for 19 consecutive years. The program has become an important platform for showcasing international student talent, promoting Chinese culture, and strengthening the “Study in Zhejiang” brand.

Through its participation in this year’s event, ZJU highlighted the achievements of its international students and its ongoing efforts to enhance the “Study@ZJU” brand. Looking ahead, the university will continue to support international students in sharing China’s stories with the world, helping them gain a deeper understanding of a real, multidimensional, and contemporary China, while encouraging both Chinese and international students to share China's experiences and amplify China's voice on the global stage.
