From May 22nd to 28th, 2026, the 2026 HSK “Study in China” Education Fairs, guided by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education and organized by the Chinese Testing International (CTI), were held in Seoul, South Korea and Mexico City, Mexico. Zhejiang University’s representatives, including Yi Honghui, Vice Dean of Zhejiang University International College, Qiao Liqing, Director of the Research and International Affairs Office of the College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhu Guoqiang, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office of the The Belt and Road International School of Medicine, Xu Jia, Deputy Director of Teaching Affairs Office of International College were invited to participate. The delegation showcased Zhejiang University’s academic strengths, strong academic discipline, and international student education programmes while promoting the university to prospective students and strengthening educational cooperation with South Korea and Mexico.

On May 23rd, the 5th HSK “Study in China” Education Fair in South Korea was held in Yonsei University, Seoul. Distinguished guests, including Ma Gui Sheng, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Korea, Huang Lei, Deputy General Manager of Chinese Testing International attended the opening ceremony. Speaking on behalf of the participating universities, Yi Honghui introduced Zhejiang University’s academic excellence and international student programmes, encouraging more outstanding Korean students to pursue their studies at Zhejiang University, broaden their horizons and achieve their dreams.

Throughout the fair, Zhejiang University’s booth featured a promotional video in Korean language and displayed a wide range of admission materials in both Chinese and English. The booth attracted many Korean students and parents, consulted with the delegation members through one-to-one consultations. As most Korean students were particularly interested in undergraduate programmes in the humanities and social sciences, the delegation provided detailed introductions to the relevant programmes, including language proficiency requirements, CSCA examination requirements, teaching model and career prospects. Many visitors commented that the fair offered them a much clearer understanding of Zhejiang University’s admission requirements and academic strengths, while also boosting their confidence in studying in China, experiencing Chinese culture and applying to Zhejiang University.

On May 25th, the 2nd HSK “Study in China” Education and Career Fair in Mexico was held at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Guests attending the opening ceremony included Li Ke Hai, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Mexico, Liu Jianqing, Deputy Director of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education. During the fair, Zhejiang University’s booth continuously played a promotional video in Spanish language, while alumni from Mexico shared their study experiences at Zhejiang University on the spot, attracting many local students and parents to the booth and had a consultation.

The delegation members provided detailed introductions on topics that attracted most interest from Mexican students, including academic programmes, scholarship policies, application procedures, support services and campus life. Based on each student’s academic background and personal plans, the delegation offered tailored advice and answered questions in detail. Many Mexican students showed a huge interest in the university’s subject strengths, talent cultivation system and development opportunities, wishing to enhance their competitiveness through studying in China. This fair provided an important platform for the local students to connect with China’s higher education resources, and also further strengthened Zhejiang University’s recruitment strategy in Latin America.

While staying in Mexico, the delegation also visited Mexican alumni to learn about their academic, job and career development details and to seek their suggestions on international student education, overseas recruitment and alumni engagement. The alumnus expressed their continued support for Zhejiang University’s internationalization efforts and their willingness to serve as a bridge connecting Mexican youths with China and Zhejiang University, helping more Mexican students learn about China and Zhejiang University.

During the fair participation in South Korea and Mexico, the delegation also visited Rainbow Confucius Institute, South Korea and Confucius Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. They held in-depth discussions on topics including local students’ Chinese language learning, interest in studying in China, preferred fields of study, language proficiency and career development after returning to the homeland. These visits helped the delegation to gain a deeper understanding of the current development of international Chinese language education,  students’needs and aspirations for studying in China for both countries. The insights gathered through the visits will support Zhejiang University in improving its international recruitment strategy, enhancing the quality of international student education and support services, and also expanding overseas partnerships.

Zhejiang University’s participation in HSK “Study in China” Education Fair in South Korea and Mexico reflects the university’s active commitment to supporting the “Study in China” national branding initiative and expanding its global recruitment network. In the future, the university will continue to optimize its global recruitment network, enhancing its attractiveness to outstanding international students from around the world, and further improve the quality of international education at Zhejiang University.
