On the morning of March 27, a principal delegation from the Sabah United Chinese School Committees' Association (Sabah Dong Zong), Malaysia, visited Zhejiang University International College. Chen Ye and Chen Nanfei, Vice Deans of the College, welcomed the delegation at Zijingang Campus. The two sides held discussions on the development of Chinese-language education, international student recruitment, and educational cooperation between China and Malaysia.

The delegation first toured Zhejiang University’s campus and international student residence halls to gain a better understanding of the University’s teaching facilities and international learning environment. During the subsequent meeting, Chen Nanfei warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced Zhejiang University’s history, academic strengths, and the development of its international education. She also highlighted the University’s international student cultivation system and the "Study@ZJU" brand.Chen Ye presented an overview of the University’s international student recruitment, explaining its admission policies, application procedures, scholarship programs, and customized academic pathways for students from Chinese independent secondary schools in Sabah. She noted that Zhejiang University welcomes outstanding students from Sabah and will continue to enhance its support services to provide Malaysian students with an even better study experience. The two sides also exchanged views on sharing Chinese-language education resources and developing short-term student exchange programs.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Joe Tiong Jia Jow, Treasurer of Sabah Dong Zong, thanked the International College for its hospitality and introduced the current development and distinctive characteristics of Chinese independent secondary schools in Sabah. He noted that Chinese-language education in Sabah has long been committed to preserving Chinese culture and nurturing local talent. He expressed the hope that the two sides would strengthen cooperation in faculty and student exchanges, pathways for further study, and joint curriculum development, creating more opportunities for Sabah students to pursue higher education at Zhejiang University.

The visit enhanced mutual understanding between Zhejiang University and the Malaysian Chinese education community, laying a solid foundation for expanding practical cooperation between the International College and Chinese independent secondary schools in Sabah, while further promoting educational and people-to-people exchanges between China and Malaysia.
