The spring breeze brings warmth, and all things awaken. February 26, 2026, marked the very first day of the Spring-Summer semester of the Year of the Horse at Zhejiang University. On this day symbolizing new beginnings, the International College welcomed its first overseas guests of the new year—a delegation led by Dr. José Martín Santos Fernández, President of the La Salle Universidad Ramon Llull, Spain.

Chen Weiying, Vice Dean of the International College, met with the guests, extending a warm welcome and heartfelt New Year blessings to the delegation. During the meeting, she introduced the overall development of Zhejiang University and the general status of international student cultivation. She noted that Zhejiang University has long maintained an excellent relationship of exchange and cooperation with the Spanish higher education sector. She expressed her hope that the delegation's visit would further promote mutual learning and exchange in the field of education, bringing new vitality into the cooperation between universities in China and Spain.
Subsequently, President José Martín Santos Fernández expressed his gratitude to the International College for its warm hospitality during the Chinese New Year period. He spoke highly of Zhejiang University's outstanding academic achievements and international reputation. He mentioned that this was his first visit to China and expressed his hope that this trip would further drive exchanges and cooperation between the faculty and students of both universities. During the talks, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions focusing on the preparation work for Ramon Llull University's upcoming student summer program, "Chinese Language and Chinese Culture," which is scheduled to be held this June.

The international exchange activities taking place at the very beginning of the lunar new year have raised the curtain on the International College's external cooperation work for 2026. It also demonstrates the college's proactive stance in continuously expanding its global partner network and advancing high-level open education.
