The results of the 2026 “Foreign Cultural Trade” Talents Selection Competition for the International Youth have recently been announced. Guan Zhuowanyi, an Argentine international student majoring in Journalism (Class of 2023) at Zhejiang University, received the Cultural Promotion Contribution Award for her entry, 《赛里木湖 | 一湖湛蓝，收尽半日闲》Lake Sayram | A Lake of Deep Blue, Capturing Half a Day’s Leisure. Zhejiang University was also honored with the Outstanding Colleges and Universities Award.

Organized by the China International Publishing group Sinolingua (中国外文局华语教学出版社) and the Center for International Cultural Communication (CICG) (中国外文局文化传播中心), the competition has been successfully held for four consecutive years. This year's event attracted enthusiastic participation from young people representing more than 70 countries, receiving nearly 1,000 high-quality submissions. The competition featured multiple categories, including short-video production, cultural IP planning, and cross-border communication strategy design. Following a rigorous evaluation process, nearly 200 international young participants from leading universities such as Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, and Wuhan University stood out for their outstanding creativity and talent.

Guan Zhuowanyi's award-winning video documents her travels across China from the unique perspective of an international student. Through vivid cinematography, the film captures the vibrant ethnic cultures surrounding Lake Sayram alongside its breathtaking landscapes, where the brilliant blue lake stretches seamlessly toward the horizon. By portraying both the region's rich cultural heritage and remarkable ecological beauty, Guan shares her genuine understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture. Through authentic encounters and personal experiences, she presents a sincere, multidimensional, and heartfelt story of China to audiences around the world.

Zhejiang University has long attached great importance to encouraging international students to participate in high-level cultural exchange programs and practical competitions. The university actively supports outstanding international students in drawing upon their experiences of studying and living in China, while leveraging their academic expertise and cross-cultural perspectives to tell authentic, engaging, and multidimensional stories about China in the language of today's youth. Through these efforts, the university contributes to the international promotion of China's outstanding traditional culture. Looking ahead, Zhejiang University will continue to expand platforms for international youth exchange and cultural practice, support deeper mutual learning among civilizations, strengthen global communication capacity, and work together with Chinese and international students to share China's stories, amplify China's voice, and present a true, multidimensional, and comprehensive image of China.
