I did Mask Painting while imagining the state of my mind and feelings. My work featured many colors, because it's beautiful that various colours are mixed together. By drawing mask paint, my mind and feelings were visualised and I felt organised.

The mindful exercise of mask painting at ZJU was truly transformational. This creative approach gave me the freedom to explore my feelings and express myself without judgment. The tranquil setting encouraged relaxation and reflection, making it simpler to connect with my innermost ideas. I left feeling refreshed, more self-aware, and inspired to continue my mindful journey.

I was very happy to participate in this creative event, because through drawing, I expressed my feelings, and drawing helped me reduce stress and distract from studying. I also met new friends and a psychology teacher. I hope that there will be more such events in the future, which develop creative thinking. Thank you very much to the organizers for this event.

Oscar Wilde once said, Give a man a mask and he will tell the truth”, assuming anonymity would reveal honesty. Yet, in the Mask Painting event, the mask became a canvas for expressing our inner and perceived truths. The colorful, playful setting brought back a sense of childhood and encouraged me to share experiences on race I’d never thought I could share. Each unique mask highlighted our diverse backgrounds, yet we all chose to be together on a rainy Saturday, openly ourselves.

I was truly honored to attend this event as an international student, marking my first experience of this kind. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and what made it particularly special was realizing that there are fellow foreign students who share the same feelings and emotions that I thought I was experiencing alone. It was incredibly uplifting to discover this sense of connection among us.
